Building Challenge

Building Challenges provide a great simulation for participants to problem solve and generate solutions in a timely manner. When adversity arises, there are fruitful and unfruitful strategies to pursue solutions. Through brainstorming and teamwork, participants will be challenged to build one of those options below. Productive teamworking skills are encouraged and reinforced in the problem-solving process.

Build-a-Boat

Teams are tasked to design, build, and enter their vessels into a water bound race. Creativity and innovation focused. (Note: some participants may get wet)

  • $11 per person for 1.5 hours (9:00am – 6:00pm)
  • 10 person minimum – 50 person maximum
  • Ages 10 and up
  • Available April – October (weather permitting)

Build-a-Bridge

Teams are challenged to construct a bridge using limited materials. There is one correct way for the bridge to be assembled, any alternate construction of the bridge will not be permitted for crossing. The first team to assemble properly and send a teammate across the bridge will win the challenge. All materials provided to each team must be utilized. Critical thinking and conflict resolution focused.

  • $11 per person for 1.5 hours (9:00am – 6:00pm)
  • 10 person minimum – 50 person maximum
  • Ages 12 and up
  • Available all year (weather permitting)

Build-a-Plane

Teams design, build and fly a large foam-sheet plane using limited materials and tools. The team who constructs a plane/glider that flies the farthest will win the challenge. Creativity and innovation focused.

  • $18 per person for 1.5 hours (9:00am – 6:00 pm)
  • 10 person minimum – 50 person maximum
  • Ages 12 and up
  • Available all year (weather permitting)
